Manetheren

From Wotpedia

Manetheren is a country that was founded before the Trolloc Wars, and was a member of the Covenant of the Ten Nations. Manetheren's land extended from included parts of Andor, Ghealdean, Altara (I think), and the entire Two Rivers. Manetheren's capitol was said to be the most beautiful city the Ogier ever built, and the Ogier remember it because it had the most beautiful Ogier Grove the Ogier ever planted. Manetheren was "a thorn in the Dark One's foot, and a bramble in his hand." Manetheren was eventually destroyed by the Trollocs invading Manetheren when the army was away. The army of Manetheren marched night and day, and were able to reach the banks of the Taren River just in time to stop the Trollocs. The King of Mantheren, King Aemon, sent out messengers to the other nations, requesting aid, and the nations said if you can hold out for 3 days we can make it. The men of Manetheren were outnumbered 10 to 1, and they shoudl have fallen in the first hour, but they held for a day. Then another, then another, but still no help came. They held out for a seven days, but still there was no help. The King had his armies cross the river into the Two Rivers, and burned the bridges. He ordered the people of Manetheren to evacuate out of the area. However, soon every citizen of Manetheren came, with whatever weapon they could find, to help the army against the Trolloc threat. The army was pushed back until they came to a place now called Emond's Field. There they were crushed by the Trolloc army. When the Queen, alone in the city of Manetheren, felt King Aemon die, she drew upon the One Power, and completely eradicated the Trolloc army. However, she drew too much and she died in the attempt, taking with her every stone of the city of Manetheren. The modern Two Rivers is said to still have the blood of Manetheren coursing through its veins. Modern Emond's Field is on the very spot where Aemon died.
